Scheduling With A “Search”

One of the founding principles and goals of M1 has been to deliver absolutely consistent and reliable song rotations. A long constant complaint with first generation schedulers (the Selector model) has been that “some songs in the category play way more often than other songs in the same category and others play a lot less”… Continue reading Scheduling With A “Search”

I haven't made a log for today (I used an older one), now I need to schedule a playlist for tomorrow, but M1 will only do one for today's date…

M1 always schedules the next date after the last date that it sees in the Log folder.   if the last date is not in the future…then it schedules for “today”, whatever that is.There is a way to work  around this….you could go ahead and run and save the schedule with “today’s” date (using the Dayformat… Continue reading I haven't made a log for today (I used an older one), now I need to schedule a playlist for tomorrow, but M1 will only do one for today's date…

How can I get M1 to schedule the whole day without stopping for rule violations?

To schedule in Automatic, load a schedule, open the menu  Rules>Enforcement…and you’ll see you can click to Automatic scheduling mode. Be aware, though, I don’t like the auto-schedule function because, of necessity, M1 will then be forced to schedule some slots with songs that violate some of your formatting rules.  Anything scheduled in violation of… Continue reading How can I get M1 to schedule the whole day without stopping for rule violations?

How do I insert a specific non-music thing?

I want to create a non-music category….audio-wise I have specific artist intros and stagers.  I would schedule these manually once I get the music log done for a few specific artists each hour. So far, no problem. But what I’d like to do, when I’m in the log edit screen and inserting, is to be… Continue reading How do I insert a specific non-music thing?

Artist Time Violation: What does that mean?

When M1 stops for a rules-edit during scheduling and you see songs with a violation of Artist Name-Time (Like this: Rod Stewart Artist 1:35)  it means there is another song by Rod has been scheduled at 1:35 and if the song in the choices selections list were to be scheduled in the selected clock-slot, then… Continue reading Artist Time Violation: What does that mean?

I had a song schedule today much sooner than it should. It is in a category with a 5 day turnover. What happened?

You told me you’d shuffled the category just before scheduling today’s playlist.  When you shuffled, you did not have box checked to:  “clear played flags” that could allow it to happen.  M1 believes you want all songs in a category to get same number of plays. so, as it schedules each one, it keeps an… Continue reading I had a song schedule today much sooner than it should. The Flip/Don’t Flip Category Rule

There are two ways that hour-restricted songs can be handled. First, here’s a brief explanation of the problem. When a song is hour-restricted, most scheduling software will “hold” that song until the first hour where it is free to schedule. this can present something of a problem when the song schedules over and over in… Continue reading The Flip/Don’t Flip Category Rule

Artist Separation Problem Investigation

I’m getting all kinds of stops for Artist separation problems.  M1 didn’t use to stop so much during scheduling.  Now, its taking me fifteen or twenty minutes to schedule and edit the log every day.I got your library file and here’s what I found:  You’ve got four songs by Dua Lipa in your three Currents… Continue reading Artist Separation Problem Investigation

Tell me how the Title Separation rule works.

I see there is a title separation rule for each category. Does that mean that the title separation rule applies to the individual songs in each category, or does it apply universally? Title separation only applies to songs of same title in “other” categories. if you have “Chattahoochie”  and “Chattahoochie – Live”  both in Power… Continue reading Tell me how the Title Separation rule works.

Can I make M1 schedule exactly 60 minutes’ content in the hour?

Yes, this can be done with Version 6, but it is seldom necessary or wise.  To do it, you add one of the special “fit to time” units to a clock. This can be either a song or a non-music unit.  Usually it would be a song.  But I really don’t advise using this function… Continue reading Can I make M1 schedule exactly 60 minutes’ content in the hour?
