Daypart Rotation

I’m looking at my song rotation history and I see one song that played in the overnight show about three months ago has repeated in the overnight show this week. This is a category with a very long turnover, so the songs in it only schedule every three months. I guess it happened because M1… Continue reading Daypart Rotation

Play Number

I’ve noticed that when I add new songs to one of my categories, they usually don’t get scheduled until a day or two later. Shouldn’t they get scheduled right away? First, it is important to understand the Play Number and its function. The Play Number system is what allows M1 to deliver the most consistent… Continue reading Play Number

Why Doesn’t M1 Search the Entire Category to Find A Song That Won’t Violate One of My Formatting Rules?

We have a lot of violations in the categories with more songs (the last ones), and I can understand why, but I don’t understand one thing: why M1 only searches a song with no violations in the first 20 positions of the stack instead of searching in the whole category? …….because if it could search… Continue reading Why Doesn’t M1 Search the Entire Category to Find A Song That Won’t Violate One of My Formatting Rules?

I’ve got a category that has a 3 day turnover, but one song got scheduled twice within three hours. How did that happen?

it is related to M1’s ‘Play Number’.  it is helpful to have a clear understanding about what it is and how it is related to your rotations. you can display the Play Number as a column in the category view. Play Number is Not a Spin Count.  it is, rather, a way of displaying what… Continue reading I’ve got a category that has a 3 day turnover, but one song got scheduled twice within three hours. I had a song schedule today much sooner than it should. It is in a category with a 5 day turnover. What happened?

You told me you’d shuffled the category just before scheduling today’s playlist.  When you shuffled, you did not have box checked to:  “clear played flags” that could allow it to happen.  M1 believes you want all songs in a category to get same number of plays. so, as it schedules each one, it keeps an… Continue reading I had a song schedule today much sooner than it should. Is there a way that I can go into a single LOG after I’ve scheduled it and check the rotations?

Yes…you can open any song card from the schedule itself, it will open  the Rotation chart…you can then use the little arrow buttons at the bottom of the song card window to click ahead and back and view all song card rotations as you browse thru them. Or, you can go to Categories, and open… Continue reading Is there a way that I can go into a single LOG after I’ve scheduled it and check the rotations?

Is there a way that I can check the average turnover of a SINGLE track?

The Average Turnover chart shows what will happen to any single song in the category…what happens to one, will happen to all. The Song Rotation chart, which looks the same but is opened from the Song Card itself, shows the ACTUAL rotation/placement of that song over the past two weeks.

How can I set it so a song doesn’t repeat for 14 days?

Music 1 doesn’t have a one-click way to do this. The rotation and exposure of any song is a function of your formatting. Song rotations are always a combination of two things: 1) The number of songs in the category, and 2) how frequently the category is used in the clocks/hours/days. Open any Category and… Continue reading How can I set it so a song doesn’t repeat for 14 days?
