Can I Run Music 1 On A Network From Different Computers?

Yes, we call it Multi-User Mode

to be able to start and run your database/library file from
two different machines here’s what you do.

1)  Install M1 on both machines…the same version of the
software must be used.
2) on your server, create a folder for your Music 1 data.
I suggest naming the folder just that way:  Music 1 Data
Move into that folder your:  (library).m1 file and the Logs
sub-folder
3) Start M1 on the first machine….when you come to the first
window, Open Database….click the Network button and
negotiate to your server, to your Music 1 Data folder, and
there select and open the (library).m1 file.
4)  Now that the library is opened/loaded….Quit Music 1.,
5) Restart M1 again again, and this time at the Open Database
window, open the OPTIONS menu and select Multi-User Mode.
Again click the Network button, negotiate to the server and
to the Music 1 Data folder, select and open (library).m1
then Quit.
6)  Start M1 again…and you should see that it is now automatically
opening to the ServerMusic 1 Data folder and your (library.m1
file appears in the left panel of the Open Database window.
close/quit.
7)  Go to the other machine…start M1 there.  at the first Open Database
window, open Options and Select Multi-User Mode.  Click the
Network button….negotiate to the Music1 Data folder and open the
database there….

Now you are set…when you start M1 on either machine, it  will automatically
look to your server/data file.

Remeber: only one computer can have read/write access to the library
at any one time.
